Hello my friends - let's talk color!

A few months ago, we were introduced to an amazing new product called Blends.  These are alcohol base markers and let me tell you, these will change the way you color!

If you were around a couple of years ago, you will remember we had markers like these before, but I am here to say, SU listened and improved the quality beyond my expectations!  I find that I can't put them down, when I start playing!  Here are some projects I have created with them:

 They are so easy to use and so easy to "blend".  (clever name right?!?!)  What I love most is how you can create such texture to your coloring with little effort.  I would recommend purchasing them in a color set. (you will receive a dark and a light shade, in the color of your choice)  Here is a link to the catalog with all the information you need to get going with our new Blends.  I would recommend using our beautiful Memento Ink pad in Tuxedo Black to stamp your image, then you can start to color any way you like.  I like to start with the darker color first, then I blend the lighter color right over the top to be sure to even out any harsh lines in my coloring.  My preferred cardstock is the Shimmery White so I get a little added sparkle for good measure.

Hello all and welcome to 2018!  I hope you had a wonder holiday season and enjoying the calm of what January can offer.  (Peace I hope!)  :) 

This is also a very exciting time of year for stampers....it's Sale A Bration time!  From January thru March, Stampin Up graciously treats us to FREE goodies when we purchase our favorite crafting supplies.  How awesome is that?!?!?  For every $50 spent on product, you get to pick a level one item from HERE for FREE! (yes, FREE!!!)  This year, because SU turns 30, they added a new level to the Saleabration offering.  Come back next week and see these two items in action because they are pretty awesome!  There will be more to show you, but today I wanted to share some cute and easy cards that you can create on your own with little effort.  Here they are:

 
These were so fun to make and easy!  I used the Color Me Happy Project Kit that was released to introduce our new Blends line of alcohol markers. (Stay tuned, I am going to share more info on those at the end of the week!) 

When I saw this kit, I was not wild about the stamp set that was offered, but loved the details of the cards themselves so I bought the kit without the stamps.  When it arrived, I was stumped because the photos shown, were with the stamp set I did not buy.  (we have all been there right?)  You see a card, love everything about it, but you don't have the stamp set.  That is what I LOVE about Stampin Up!  Products we offer are easy to make into something new, with little effort.    I simply picked another stamp set, here I used Lift Me Up and one ink color - yes, only one!  I used Basic Gray  and to get the 2 toned look, I simply inked up my image, stamped it on a scratch piece of paper, then stamped on my card.  This gives the look of 2 shades of gray! 

I used the recommended layouts offered from the kit and was pretty proud of how they turned out!  Here is a close up look of everything you get in the kit:

Enough supplies to make 16 cards! I love the details on the envelopes because that would take a lot of time to do myself.  :)  I love that they all coordinate so if you wanted to turn this into a gift, it would be perfect! 

So all in all, don't get caught up in accepting a kit for face value....it can be just as beautiful as YOU can make it.  :)
