FOR THE GUYS CARD KIT

Suit up for creative fun!

The Annual Catalog Inspiration

Fear not my creative friends! The Well Suited Suite is here, and it's the perfect solution we've been searching to find for those hard-to-create masculine cards. This suite is ideal for masculine birthdays, Father's day, and a few more unexpected uses, too. The Handsomely Suited stamp set has a combination greetings and images that are great as focal images, accents, or stamped backgrounds. The Suit & Tie Dies take this bundle over the top with dies that coordinate with the stamps and a whole set of pieces to mix n' match to create shirts, vests, or suit jackets. Pair the stamps and dies with the handsome patterns of the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and you have a top-notch combination. Obviously, the shirts and suits you'll build with this set are going to be a hit, but what about using the suit dies with Basic White to create a lab coat, or with Mint Macaron to create scrubs as a thank you to nurses and doctors. Or in the colors of police, fire, or military uniforms? Or create wedding cards with black tuxedos and move the "V" of the jacket dies up to create a V-neck wedding dress with embossed Basic White cardstock and Pearl Jewel details. The possibilities really are endless. I look forward to seeing what you create with this unique set! The tutorial below creates layers of texture with stamped images, a popped-up frame technique, twine, and stamped Designer Series Paper.

Have a wonderful rest of your day!!

It's been awhile but Saleabration is happening now!

Hello my stampin friends!  I hope you have found me on Facebook to keep current but I am going to try my best to keep things current here too, so you are well informed.

We are in the final month of Saleabration 2019 and boy has it been popular!!  We have already had a few things completely out of stock, but there is still more to be had!  One of my personal favorites is the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  (Say that two times really fast!!)  This folder is so beautiful and easy to use.  Below are some projects I created during my Facebook Live that I would like show you:

Fig

Colorful flowers

All 4 cards were using this folder in different ways! The first two were simply running the cardstock thru the Big Shot with the folder, then using a sponge dauber to apply color lightly to the raised portion of the paper.  (I used Fresh Fig ink and cardstock for both)

The first of the second photo was using the same technique, just switching up the colors. Where are all my Gray Granite fans?!?!?  This one is so striking in person and great for any occasion.  The last in this series was using Whisper White cardstock with the folder, then coloring some of the images with and aqua painter, and the other images using our Blends markers.  This one was not my favorite to being with, but when it was done and paired with Pineapple Punch for the base, it grew on me!

As you can see, embossing folders can give you so much to work with, they are a must for your crafting adventures.  Keep in mind, Dynamics folders are going to give you more depth because they are thicker, but our standard folders get the job done too.

If you would like to see me create the card step by step, you can do so here.

Thanks for stopping by today and let me know if you have any  questions.

Have a wonderful day!!

It only took 14 years to get him to try....

Hello my friends!  Can you believe it is Labor Day weekend 2018?!?  This summer really flew by and can already feel the temperatures changing just a bit, in the arrival of Fall.  Last weekend we got some much needed rain, which meant it was the perfect day to play in my craft room.

When the new annual catalog came out, there was a new package of paper that caught my eye, but honestly, it sat on my table for quite some time, till last weekend.  This paper is printed vellum.  Vellum is a great way to add some subtleness to a project, without going overboard.  Well Stampin Up! outdid themselves and them printing on it, allowed us to bring out our missing 'inner child'.  :)  You can color on this with either Stampin Blends, or our tried and true markers!  Here are some images of this 6 x 6 paper:

Vellum

What you can do is color on the side where you don't see the glossy black outline.  When you do, you see something magical!

Vellum coloring

Remember, I am not a photographer but this paper is beyond gorgeous!!  The top was done with regular markers, the bottome was done with Stampin Blends.  I prefer using the Blends because it dries really fast.  If you use markers, you need patience.

So now back to last weekend.  While it rained, I colored - it was so fun!  I just cut out smaller images from the 6 x 6 paper and let the colors talk.  In comes my handsome husband Michael, wanting to know why it was so quiet in my room.  I explained what I was doing, and asked if he colored as a kid. He replied, "well of course I did, didn't everyone?"  Well said husband.  :)  So I asked if he wanted to give it a try.  I put out all the Blends and said it was his paper and he could do what he liked:

20180826_173633555_iOS

To my surprise, he didn't grab Husker Red aka Real Red, but did get straight to coloring.  (he did find the Red later)  LOL  As you color, you can hold it up to the light to check your work as you go.  Think of this as stain glass on paper!  Well I made him finish it all the way to the end because it was perfect!

20180826_180039520_iOS

And here are those final projects!

Coloring vellum 2

When we finished - I was smitten with this paper!!  This card was extremely easy to put together because it needed just a simple white background.  What do you think?  When was the last time you stopped, and brought out that inner child who just wants color???  :)

Until next time!

Now wasn't that easy!

Hello my friends!

Can you believe school is starting again? Crazy!  I love seeing all the photos of 'the first day of school' from friends and family.  I also love that Fall is right around the corner which is my MOST favorite time of the year!!!

Today I wanted to show you a quick and easy card, that can also be a gift card holder!  This card is so easy to put together and the different occasion ideas are endless.  Here is a preview:

Memories finished

As you can see, I conveniently inserted a gift card in mine.  How cute is that!?!?!  I used the Big Plans Memories and More Card Pack that come with an assortment of 5o cards (3x4 inches and 4x6 inches) as well as stickers and specialty cards that are drop-dead gorgeous!  Here are measurements of what is needed:

Memories and more card

I used Blushing Bride in the example above but be brave, try a new color combo.  Here are a few more ideas:

Memories and more giftcard

The above sample was using the Best Route Memories and More Card pack which I thought would be great for those young adults headed off to college this month.  The verses in the set are so inspiring and would be great to brighten someone's day.  And if that was not enough, how about the upcoming Christmas holidays?!?!

Memories and more holiday

These my friends will be available on September 5th!  The stickers in this kit, (look at the little elf, candy cane, circle sticker, tree and showflakes) are stinkin cute and full of glitter!  These are quick and sure to be a hit with anyone receiving them!  I actually did a Facebook Live video when I created my first sample so if you would like to see, here is that video:

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share what I love!  If you have any questions, please let me know and as always..keep stampin!  :)

You know you want a Big Shot

Hello my friends!  So I promised that I would let you in on a secret, and this is too good not to read.  Who out there has a Big Shot?  Who out there wishes they had a Big Shot?  Did you know that everyone who purchases a Big Shot from me, gets their first embossing folder for FREE?  This is my way of saying Thank You for investing in your hobby, and I want you to be able to play once you get the Big Shot.

What makes this time of year even more special is because you get more for FREE!  Take a look at one of your options:

20180120_151333223_iOS

This year is the very first year that you can choice this gorgeous set of Thinlits as your free gift for buying what you love!  During Saleabration, you have the opportunity to pick from items that are not currently for sale and only available for a limited amount of time.  Some are considered level 1 items that you can chose when you spend $50, but there are 2 additional items that you can chose when you spend $100, which is where you would be when you invest in a Big Shot!  Here are the two items that you can chose as your FREE gift when you spend $100:

Both were my favorites the moment I saw them, and have used the Thinlits so much in a short amount of time! If I were getting a Big Shot, this is how I would do it!  Getting the deal above would get you the gorgeous Thinlits, an embossing folder of your choice, and the Big Shot all for $110 plus s/h and tax.  How exciting is that?!?!?

This deal is only available thru me and only thru March 31, 2018.  This will get you a great start into creating some one of a kind projects so don't wait, you know you want to.  :)

Please be sure to subscribe to my Facebook page where I feature tips, give-aways and projects that I am working on!  This past week was a great product that would go along with your new Thinlits too!  Contact me today!

You know you want these markers!

Hello my friends - let's talk color!

A few months ago, we were introduced to an amazing new product called Blends.  These are alcohol base markers and let me tell you, these will change the way you color!

Blends

If you were around a couple of years ago, you will remember we had markers like these before, but I am here to say, SU listened and improved the quality beyond my expectations!  I find that I can't put them down, when I start playing!  Here are some projects I have created with them:

20171016_003017550_iOS

20171016_003025389_iOS

20171102_024710570_iOS

They are so easy to use and so easy to "blend".  (clever name right?!?!)  What I love most is how you can create such texture to your coloring with little effort.  I would recommend purchasing them in a color set. (you will receive a dark and a light shade, in the color of your choice)  Here is a link to the catalog with all the information you need to get going with our new Blends.  I would recommend using our beautiful Memento Ink pad in Tuxedo Black to stamp your image, then you can start to color any way you like.  I like to start with the darker color first, then I blend the lighter color right over the top to be sure to even out any harsh lines in my coloring.  My preferred cardstock is the Shimmery White so I get a little added sparkle for good measure.

Stampin Up has created some great how to videos to get us going in the right direction.  Here are those links:

I cannot say enough about these markers!  If you have any questions, or would like to give them a try, ask me today!  We have been using these in my monthly card class and have so much fun!  And I have to ask, who doesn't want to feel like a true artist?  :)  Until next time!

Just when you need a little something

Hello my stampin friends!

I have been in my room playing this week and so excited to show you some of the projects I have been working on!  So have you seen the mini pizza boxes in the Holiday Catalog?  No?  Let me show you:

144645_mini_pizza_boxes

Plain, simple but let me tell you....so many options for these little cuties!!  Here is a great sample that SU has created for your upcoming holiday giving:

Holiday17_p10b

Isn't it just cute?!?!  I love the detail of the doily and just a little bit of sparkle from the sequin!  These boxes are under a $1 a piece (8 boxes for $6) and can be used for so many occasions.  Here is a view of the VIP project from my classes in September which was full of coffee candies or caramel apple candies:

20170916_172008549_iOS

With a little pretty paper, some coordinating ribbon and a greeting, you are good to go!  Now when I first saw these boxes, something in my head kept thinking "How about a thinking of you box or get well soon box" so the search began for some supplies to fit in the box.  (The boxes are 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" so use the space wisely) I was able to find a package of tissues the perfect size and the rest just kind of came together:

Boxes

The perfect package to give when someone is under the weather!  I know I am going to take this opportunity to make a few up so I am prepared the next time I need a little something for that special friend.  I also love hot tea this time of year which led to the next project I want to share with you:

20171018_025731549_iOS-ConvertImage

This could be a gift for one, or a gift for 2!!  (clever right?)  LOL  This idea came to me one morning while getting ready to work, so I hurried and sketched the picture that was in my head of the box, then off to the day job!  The cookies are so yummy and come in the perfect little package made just for these boxes!

So are you inspired?  Feeling creative?  I would love to see what you can do with these simple white boxes.  Try spritzing or wiping color directly on the matte finish for a stepped up look...the skies the limit!  (Did I tell you the inside of the box is food safe?!?!)  They are awesome!!!

Thanks for stopping by - until next time!
